Privacy Policy

Effective date: March 4, 2026

01Overview

TimeTrackr (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is a time-tracking mobile application available on iOS and Android. We built TimeTrackr to help you understand your own time — and we take the privacy of that data seriously.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding it. It applies to the TimeTrackr mobile application and this website (timetrackr.app).

By using TimeTrackr, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

02Information We Collect

Information you provide directly

  • Account information — If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name and email address from that provider. If you use the app without signing in, we create an anonymous account and no personal identifiers are collected.
  • Time tracking data — Activity names, start times, end times, and the color you assign to each entry. This is the core of what TimeTrackr stores.
  • Support communications — If you contact us for help, we retain that correspondence.

Information collected automatically

  • Device information — Device model, operating system version, app version, and a randomly generated device identifier.
  • App usage analytics — Aggregate, anonymized events such as which features are used and how often, collected via PostHog (hosted in the United States). We use this to improve the product. We do not sell this data.
  • Log data — Timestamps of app sessions and general interaction patterns. No content from your time entries is included in logs.

Information we do not collect

  • We do not collect payment information directly — all purchases are handled by Apple App Store or Google Play.

03How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the TimeTrackr app and website
  • Sync your time tracking data across your devices
  • Respond to your support requests and inquiries
  • Detect and fix crashes, bugs, and technical issues
  • Understand aggregate usage patterns to prioritize features
  • Comply with legal obligations

We will never sell your personal information or your time tracking data to third parties.

04Data Storage & Security

Your time tracking data is stored securely on Supabase servers located in the United States. We use industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to user data is restricted to personnel who require it to perform their job, and all staff are subject to confidentiality obligations.

No security system is perfect. While we work hard to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a breach that affects your data, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

05Data Retention

We retain your account data and time entries for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it for longer.

Anonymized, aggregated analytics data (which cannot be linked back to you) may be retained indefinitely to help us understand long-term usage trends.

06Third-Party Services

TimeTrackr uses a small number of third-party services to operate. Each is bound by their own privacy policies:

  • Supabase — Provides our backend database and authentication infrastructure. Data is stored in the United States. Subject to Supabase’s privacy policy.
  • PostHog — Collects anonymized, aggregate product analytics (feature usage, session data). No time entry content is included. Data is processed in the United States. Subject to PostHog’s privacy policy.
  • Apple / Google — Handle Sign In authentication and app distribution. Subject to their respective privacy policies.

We do not integrate advertising networks, social media tracking pixels, or data brokers.

07Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access — Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction — Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Deletion — Request that we delete your account and associated personal data.
  • Portability — Request an export of your time tracking data in a machine-readable format.
  • Objection / restriction — Object to or ask us to restrict certain types of processing.
  • Opt-out of analytics — You can disable analytics collection in the app’s Settings at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@timetrackr.app. We will respond within 30 days.

California residents (CCPA/CPRA): You have the right to know what personal information is collected, to delete it, and to opt out of its sale (we do not sell personal information). You will not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

EEA / UK residents (GDPR): Our lawful bases for processing are contract performance (providing the service you signed up for) and legitimate interests (improving the product, preventing fraud). You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

08Children's Privacy

TimeTrackr is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA/UK). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected data from a child, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@timetrackr.app.

09Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Effective date” at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent revision.

Continued use of TimeTrackr after the effective date constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
